Evelyn Mandell of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Hayley Ray of Derby, Kansas, have received the honor of being named Sterling College’s Teachers of Promise for the fall semester. Mandell and Ray will be recognized at the Kansas Teacher of the Year Awards Banquet on Nov. 21 in Wichita.

Due to her successful participation in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Youth of the Year competition, Sterling College freshman Alliyah Gray of Hutchinson, Kansas, won the title of Kansas Youth of Year and received over $40,000 in scholarship funds to support her while she pursues a degree at Sterling College.
Sterling College seniors Matthew Oden and Emily Rivera each passed the athletic training Board of Certification exam.

Sterling College seniors Matthew Oden and Emily Rivera each passed the athletic training Board of Certification exam. Oden of San Jacinto, California, and Rivera of Fort Worth, Texas, both passed the national board exam on their first attempt, officially moving one step closer to becoming certified athletic trainers.
