Rice County gifted students visited Sterling College

Sterling College educational psychology students spent Monday, Oct. 28, guiding third through sixth grade Rice County gifted students through a day of activities related to “The Swiss Family Robinson,” by Johann David Wys. The gifted students were accompanied by Pam Simpson, the Rice County gifted and talented coordinator.

SC debate and forensics season opens with Debates on a Plain

Over the weekend, the Sterling College debate and forensics team successfully co-hosted and competed in the 7th annual Debates on a Plain Invitational. This tournament featured 19 colleges and universities from across the nation, including over 600 entries.

But who would expect that education to come from pudding-eating contests, outdoor worship sessions, and so much group bonding? Campus Activities Board hosts Sterling’s Got Talent

The Sterling College Campus Activities Board hosted a talent show entitled Sterling’s Got Talent last Tuesday, Feb. 5. The show was filled with an assortment of different acts encompassing various sorts of talent, including singing, dancing and comedy. A lot of time and work went into the planning process.

“It involved a lot of people, including performers, MCs, sound personnel, and judges. So it was a lot of emailing beforehand and a lot of coordinating” said senior Anna Kolb, CAB president.
