The Sterling College Debate and Forensics Team has added quite a few trophies to their display case. Having participated in the Ocho Debate Tournament, the Missouri Mule, and the Sunflower Swing, the team has taken first place in overall team sweepstakes and has earned over a dozen individual and team awards.
David Schwoebel will direct the College’s four vocal ensembles, the Highland Singers, Men’s Glee, Women’s Glee and Choral Union.

On Monday, Nov. 2, the Sterling College choirs will have the unique experience of performing a renowned composer’s work under his direction during the Sixth Annual Composer Festival. David Schwoebel, the composer of over 150 published works, will direct the College’s four vocal ensembles, the Highland Singers, Men’s Glee, Women’s Glee and Choral Union, in performing a mixture of his original pieces and his interpretation of other works such as “Come, Thou Fount” and “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah.” The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A multi-departmental effort at Sterling College has culminated in a unique event for the campus and the community. On Thursday, Nov. 12, Sterling College will host two professors of law who will debate the concept of federalism in American society. The debate, which will take place at 7 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall, is free and open to the public.
