It’s time for the “Confusical Popcert” – a unique mix of “musical-pops-concert” with a bit of “confusing” mixed in. The Sterling College Symphonic Band under the direction of Larry Brownlee will be presenting Confusical Popcert #23 this Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m.  in Culbertson Auditorium. This year’s performance comes with the title and promise “It’s Gonna Be Epic!”

On Saturday, April 23, 300 Sterling College students, faculty, staff and community members joined together to serve the town of Sterling, Kansas, by participating in the event Love Sterling, a city-wide service day. The coordinator of Love Sterling, Emilie Holland, spiritual life assistant and missions director, and several students had been planning the event since January.

Sterling College journalism garnered recognition recently by securing 18 victories in the 2022 Kansas Collegiate Media Contest. Junior Taya Wilson, of Sterling, and sophomore Shaylee Gibbs, of Amarillo, Texas, came away as individual winners.  

The Sterling College Criminal Justice program, specifically the Judicial Process class, will host a mock trial at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Rice County Courthouse. The honorable Kathryn Gardner will serve as the presiding judge. The mock trial is open to the public.

Students enrolled in the course will serve as the attorneys, witnesses and the bailiff. Other criminal justice students will serve as the jury.

Sterling College held the distinct privilege of hosting the 154th Annual Meeting of the Kansas Academy of Science & Kansas Entomological Society (92nd Annual) on the College’s campus over April 1-2. Sterling College students and faculty presented during the meeting. 

Scandal! Blackmail! Corruption! And laughter—Oscar Wilde's comedy “An Ideal Husband” has it all! It is being brought to life on the Sterling College Theatre stage by husband-wife team Micah and Ava (Brooks) Bachert this Friday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9. The couple will graduate next month, and this show is their senior project.
