Holly Schmidt

Holly comes to us with extensive experience as a business and marketing professional, working with many companies within the marketing and communications field, including organizations such as Snap-On, the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, and the Wichita Business Journal.  Holly received her BA in Communications and her Master of Liberal Studies in Organizational Leadership with a heavy emphasis in Communications, both from Fort Hays State University.

Dr. Todd Vogts

Todd R. Vogts, Ph.D. (Kansas State University, 2023), serves the Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts as an assistant professor of media. He is also the department’s co-chair, and he sits on various committees. Dr. Vogts advises student media at Sterling College and teaches courses in communication, journalism, and digital media. He also pursues an active research agenda that focuses on mis- and disinformation, the intersection of media and democracy, sports media, community and rural journalism, and journalism education.

Ken Troyer

Ken taught 13 years in Kansas public schools as a forensics and debate coach and public speaking and drama teacher. His teams won multiple state championships, with individual students not only winning state championships, but national titles as well.

Under his direction, the Sterling College debate and forensics team has returned to regional and national prominence with the debate team capturing multiple state championship titles and placing 9th in the nation in 2010-2011 and 12th in 2011-2012.
