Wednesday, November 18, 2015

Sterling College seniors Matthew Oden and Emily Rivera each passed the athletic training Board of Certification exam. Oden of San Jacinto, California, and Rivera of Fort Worth, Texas, both passed the national board exam on their first attempt, officially moving one step closer to becoming certified athletic trainers.

“Matt and Emily both transferred to Sterling College for the Athletic Training Program. They have worked extremely hard in preparing for this exam, but more importantly, preparing themselves for this profession. Both Matt and Emily are planning on attending graduate school in the fall and are currently looking for internships for the spring. I am so proud of their commitment to our program, and I look forward to seeing them grow as certified athletic trainers,” said Pete Manely, director of athletic training.

Now that Oden and Rivera have passed the Board of Certification exam, they will both be eligible for certification upon conferral of their bachelor’s degree in athletic training.
