“It’s remarkable what can happen in just a couple of days of focused rehearsal.” That was the reaction of Sean Foster, director of the Sterling College Choir, after nine Sterling College music students joined some of the region’s top collegiate singers to perform in the Collegiate Honor Choir at the conference of the Southwest American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA) on March 4-7, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Sterling College will host “No Ordinary People: A C.S. Lewis Conference” on Friday, March 27, 2026. Sponsored by the Sterling College C.S. Lewis Center and Faith and Learning, the conference will bring scholars, students, and guests together for a day of reflection on discipleship, education, and the enduring legacy of C.S. Lewis. The conference is free and open to the public, but registration is recommended. 

Sterling College welcomed the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) team to campus on Monday, February 23, providing education students with an opportunity to learn from some of the state's most distinguished educators. The KTOY team, led by Rachel Marlow, a vocal music teacher at Central Elementary School and the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year, delivered presentations focused on the importance of student connections in the classroom. 

When “Our Town” was first performed at Sterling College in the fall of 1939, the play was barely a year removed from its Broadway premiere and Pulitzer Prize win. More than two decades later, the college returned to Thornton Wilder’s timeless work in 1960. Now, nearly nine decades after that first Sterling production—the play comes home once again.
