Sterling College is honored to welcome the Eastgate Creative production team for a special preview of their highly anticipated documentary series, The Forge of Friendship, on Tuesday, February 3, at 7 p.m., in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Sterling College is pleased to announce Stephon Moore as the featured speaker for its Peacemakers Convocation on Monday, January 19. The convocation will take place at 10 a.m. in Culbertson Auditorium in Spencer Hall. The event is open to the public.

“We are excited for our Peacemakers Convocation, as it centers on a biblical framework for engaging our world and culture in a way that is grounded in the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. We look forward to welcoming Pastor Moore to our campus for this special event,” said Jose Carrillo, campus pastor.

Sterling College will host its second annual Honor Band Day on Thursday, January 8, welcoming outstanding high school musicians from across central Kansas for a day of rehearsal and a culminating public concert.

Sterling College is pleased to announce that Jordan Waite has accepted the position of director of admissions. Waite most recently served as the administrative assistant for student life at the College and brings a unique blend of experience in student engagement, administrative operations, and customer service to her new role.

At most college forensics and debate tournaments, winners go home with plaques or trophies. But at Cameron University’s annual Christmas Classic, competitors leave with Nutcrackers—bright, whimsical, and in every size and style imaginable. Sterling College has been attending this three-day December tradition for 20 consecutive years, and this year the team returned to Kansas with 23 more Nutcrackers to add to a collection that now numbers well over 200.

Sterling College Music is wasting no time ushering in the warmth and wonder of the Christmas season. In less than 24 hours, Sterling will ring with two festive concert performances designed to draw audiences straight into the heart of the holidays. After all, nothing stirs the spirit of Christmas quite like music — the familiar melodies, the traditions they evoke, and the memories they rekindle. 

Ring in the holiday season a little early with the second annual “Merry and Bright: A Christmas Celebration,” at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, in Mabee Library on the Sterling College campus. Featuring longtime musical collaborators Bridget Hille and Sean Foster, assistant professor of music, the concert will share festive four-hand piano arrangements of beloved Christmas carols in a variety of styles—offering a joyful start to the campus holiday season. 

Sterling College will host its inaugural Shark Pool Day on Friday, December 5, and provides an opportunity for area high school students and teachers to experience an interactive day of creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning alongside Sterling faculty.
