Federal Work Study

The Financial Aid Office may award students with federal work study as part of the student's financial aid package. Federal work study is a need-based program.

  • Hours are typically limited to seven hours per week, but the number of hours may vary depending on the amount of aid the student qualifies for. All work study jobs pay minimum wage.
  • Checks are issued to students once a month based on the number of hours they worked. These earnings can be applied directly to tuition and room/board expenses, or can be used for other indirect educational expenses.
  • While some jobs open up periodically throughout the school year, jobs are typically filled at the beginning of the school year through a first-come-first-serve process.
  • Students who qualify can work with Career Services to see which jobs are available.
