Sterling College is excited to welcome an estimated 650 students to campus this summer as it hosts a series of camps throughout June and July. The summer camp season will include three cheerleading camps sponsored by KSHSAA and Varsity, as well as leadership and ministry camps hosted by Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and CrossPoint Church.

Friends and family gathered in the Gleason Center at Sterling College on Saturday morning, May 10, 2025, to celebrate the achievements of its Class of 2025 graduates. The River City Pipes & Drums band led the procession, and speaker, Stephen R. Morefield, pastor at Christ Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Leoti, Kan., gave the Commencement address. The Class of 2025 were honored as part of this year’s program. The presentation of degrees followed with students walking the stage and shaking hands with President Scott Rich, completing their time at Sterling.

What happens when two creative minds from vastly different backgrounds come together in one art show? You get “Duality”— the bold and dynamic senior exhibition from Sterling College graphic design majors Brooklyn Kuhn of Victoria, Kan., and Jonah Lugo of Corpus Christi, Texas.
This special two-day show will be on display Friday and Saturday, May 9–10, at the Sterling College Art & Media Center Gallery, 306 West Washington in Sterling. The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Sterling College students were honored for their outstanding undergraduate research at the 157th Annual Meeting of the Kansas Academy of Science, held April 4-5, at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. Four biology majors - Karlee Jacobs, Phoebi Waller, Delilah Trias, and Joel Godina - presented their original research and received top awards for their work.

Sterling College’s Symphonic Band is turning up the volume and bringing down the house with Confusical Popcert #26: Legends of Rock, set for Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Culbertson Auditorium. The high-voltage concert is free and open to the public and promises to be a thrilling tribute to the icons of rock music—from Elvis to Queen, The Beatles to Bon Jovi.
Why Legends of Rock? “Why not?” says Director Larry Brownlee with a grin. “The music is energetic, exciting, and just plain fun to listen to. And it’s a great way to close out the school year.”

The stage lights burned bright at Sterling College on Monday, April 14, as nearly 200 high school students from across Kansas packed into Culbertson Auditorium for a day that blended fierce vocal competition with side-splitting musical theatre. The college hosted its first-ever Musical Theatre Singing Contest, followed by a crowd-pleasing matinee performance of Urinetown: The Musical—a hilarious, high-energy satire that had students laughing, cheering, and leaping to their feet at curtain call.
