Dr. Ken Brown

Brown returns to Sterling College after serving as the director of virtual learning and instructional technology at Hutchinson Community College. Prior to that, he was the vice president for innovation and technology at Sterling from 2005 to 2011.

The future presents tremendous potential for Sterling College, and I am blessed to be able to take part in that progress as a servant leader, working alongside skilled and caring professionals who are here to serve Christ,” said Brown.

Brad Evenson

Brad Evenson is Sterling College's director of marketing and communications, overseeing the marketing communications for Sterling with internal and external target markets. Evenson directs the office of marketing and communication which works closely with campus departments including admissions, institutional advancement, alumni association, Sterling College Online Learning, athletics and more.

K.C. Bassett

K.C. Bassett is currently the head women's basketball coach. She was head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach for seven seasons prior to being named the head women's basketball coach for the 2014-15 season.

Before joining the coaching staff, she was a four-year starter and twice captain on Sterling College teams that finished with a combined record of 99-28 [78%], and won two conference championships and one KCAC tournament championship. Her teams made three trips to the NAIA National Tournament, where they finished in the Sweet Sixteen twice and Elite Eight once.

Kendra Grizzle

In 2006, Kendra and her husband Joel made a decision to leave the big city lights of Dallas, Texas and follow God’s leading to accept a ministry position in Lyons at First Baptist Church. As they drove to their new home, she couldn’t help but admire the beautiful campus of Sterling College and knew that God had big plans for them in the Midwest. In July 2013, Kendra joined the Sterling College Family serving as the Assistant Registrar. In July 2019 she assumed the role of Registrar.

Laurel Watney

Laurel graduated from Gordon College with a degree in biblical studies and a minor in missions. She and her husband, Mark, were missionaries in Turkey for a year and a half early in their marriage. They moved to Sterling in 2006 and absolutely love it. They have three sons, Caleb, Micah and Josiah.

Laurel began working in the library in 2010 and really enjoys working with the students. She has led women’s Bible studies on campus and is co-leading a group of students to the Mediterranean this summer.
 

Deb Wiebe

 Deb was born and raised here in Sterling, Kansas. She graduated from Sterling high school and attended Hutchinson Community College. She now lives in Sterling with her husband, Curt and together have two children, Brenna and Derek as well as their grandaughter, Morgan. Brenna is married to SC Alumni, Brandon Winn.

Deb started working in the athletic department in 1995 and can truly say, "This has been the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.  Getting to know the student athletes and working with a great coaching staff truly makes for the best job!"

Will Teufel

A former public school teacher, Will made the decision to work in higher education by working for Sterling College. His favorite aspect of Sterling College is the friendly campus atmosphere and the privilege of helping adult learners reach their educational goals. In his spare time, Will enjoys family time, writing and arranging music, playing instruments, web design, and computing.

Mitzi Suhler

Mitzi attended Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.  Mitzi is married, lives in Lyons and has 3 children. She enjoys reading, doing crafts and being with her family.

Dr. Scott Rich

Scott Rich has been Sterling College's president since 2013. Rich joined the College in 2008, serving as chief financial officer where he provided leadership and oversaw finance, human resources, physical plant among other obligations, before being inaugurated as Sterling's 12th president.

Before the College, Rich has served in a variety of leadership and management roles in both the for-profit and non-profit world. He brings with him a rich understanding of budget and production management and financial reporting.
