Dr. Todd Vogts
Todd R. Vogts, Ph.D. (Kansas State University, 2023), serves the Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts as an assistant professor of media. He is also the department’s co-chair, and he sits on various committees. Dr. Vogts advises student media at Sterling College and teaches courses in communication, journalism, and digital media. He also pursues an active research agenda that focuses on mis- and disinformation, the intersection of media and democracy, sports media, community and rural journalism, and journalism education.
Dr. Amanda Burkhart
Amanda Burkhart joined Sterling College in the fall of 2018, where she brings a wealth of experience and passion for athletic training. Hailing from Larned, Kansas, Amanda embarked on her journey in higher education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Fort Hays State University. She continued her academic pursuits at Fort Hays, earning a Master of Science Degree in Health and Human Performance. In 2024, Amanda completed her PhD in Health Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
Larry Brownlee
Returning to his Alma Mater, Larry Brownlee ’80 joined Sterling College as a full-time faculty member with over 35 years of experience as an instrumental music teacher. Previously a full-time faculty member at Sterling High School, Larry has taught instrumental music in three school systems at elementary through high school levels, coached athletics, served as sponsor for numerous extracurricular clubs, and served as an adjudicator for multiple music festivals and competitions. He earned his M.M.Ed. from Wichita State University, his B.A.

Tracy Isaac
Tracy comes to Sterling College after serving as Registrar/Student Data Coordinator for Hesston High School. A graduate of Tabor College, she got to experience firsthand the value of attending a Private Christian College. She loves helping prospective students see the value of this type of education as well! Tracy is married to Lonnie, and together they have three children, Tessa, Rhain and Logan. When not cheering on the Warrior tennis team, she can be found cheering on her children at their events, doing DYI projects and reading a good book.
Brett Couture
Brett Couture is originally from Littleton, Colorado and is a Sterling College Alumni. He met his wife at SC, and he now serves as a Resident Director for Student Life as well as providing academic support in the Office of Student Success.
